Wat Poh (Chinese warriors)
Wat Poh in Bangkok has a number of heavy granite sculptures of Chinese warriors, that are used as door guards.
They are dressed in general's uniforms, have long beards, and hold long weapons, and some are rather reminiscent of Kuan U (fig.).
These large statues are very similar to those found at Dusit Maha Prasat (fig.), but much larger in size.
They arrived in Siam from China as insignificant ballast used to weigh down the otherwise empty sailing ships.
