  Tham Khao Luang entrance

Thailand

Aggressive monkeys stalk for food at the entrance to Tham Khao Luang cave (fig.) but never follow visitors descending the steep stairs. These Long-tailed Macaques live in large groups and are also known as Crab-eating macaques (fig.).

Though alleging a different location, i.e. near the Three Pagoda Pass, the cave's stairway features in a Thai historical movie on the life of King Naresuan, filmed at night when Siamese troops were laying in ambush to attack the Burmese enemy.
