  Great Owl Moth

Two Great Owl Moths,  a species of large moth, of which the ocelli, in combination with the abdomen and the markings on the wings are reminiscent to the face of an owl (fig.).

 

These two were spotted on a wall surrounding Ta Prohm (fig.) in Angkor. See also List of Thai Insect Names.
