Below, the ground-colour of the Great Evening Brown consists of a wavy pattern of tawny-orange and brown. The forewings have a series of small white spots near the apex, and there are several small indistinct whitish spots and ocelli-like markings on the hindwings, as well as some vague pale smudges.
