PREVIOUS BIRD NEXT BIRD Singapore

A Malayan Peacock-pheasant in Singapore's Jurong Bird Park. This specific one is an adult male. Males are short-tailed and measure about fifty centimeters. Its mainly pale brown plumage has small black spots and bands, and iridescent greenish-blue ocelli with a buff edge.

It has a loose, pointed and upturned, dark blue-green crest on the forehead and is therefore also known as Crested Peacock-pheasant. See also List of Thai Animal Names.
