Vietnam

The Cao Dai Temple is the Holy See of the syncretistic Cao Dai religion, and is located at Da Lat, near Tay Ninh. Cao Dai believers are monotheistic and believe that their teachings, symbolism and organization were conveyed directly from God.

Followers of Caodaism practice non-violence, vegetarianism, and worship of ancestors. Their ultimate purpose is to to break the perpetual cycle of samsara. It borrows and fuses certain aspects from mainly three other religions, namely Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism, which are represented by the colours yellow, blue and red, respectively (fig.).
