  Amida mudra

Myanmar

A Buddha image in Myanmar depicting the Buddha with a Amida mudra, i.e. the image in a seated position with the hand palms held forward, the fingers upward and the index fingers pointing slightly towards each other. However, there are nine grades of Amida and thus also nine hand positions. Hence, in iconography, this mudra may also be depicted alternatively.
