Wat Ratchaburana (วัดราชบูรณะ) is the name of a temple in Bangkok, which is officially and fully known as Wat Ratchaburana Rachawora Wihaan (วัดราชบูรณะราชวรวิหาร), and nicknamed Wat Liap (วัดเลียบ), after the wealthy Chinese immigrant and merchant who financed the construction of the temple which was built in the late Ayutthaya (อยุธยา) Period. The name means ‘Temple Renovated by the King’ or ‘Temple of thw Royal Renovation’, and its ubosot (อุโบสถ), i.e. the ‘prayer hall’, houses the Phra Phutta Maha Raj (พระพุทธมหาราช) Buddha image. During World War II, the temple was seriously damaged and the present ubosot was built in 1960. There are temples with similar names in both Phra Nakhon Sri Ayutthaya (พระนครศรีอยุธยา)  and Phitsanulok (พิษณุโลก). 回
