Thao Hiranphanasoon, or simply Hiran (fig.), is an asura considered to be a guardian angel to several royals of the past. The name Hiranphanasoon translates to ‘Golden Forest Demon’. He is a benevolent guardian yak who is invoked for protection from illness and misfortune.
