  dhammachakka mudra

Thailand

A dhammachakka mudra symbolises the Buddha's first public discourse of his doctrine, and was given to five ascetics at Mrigadava, a deer park in Sarnath.

In this mudra the Buddha forms a circle with the thumb and index finger of one hand, and with the thumb and middle finger of the other hand, whilst the other of both hands fingers point upward.
