  Wat Phrathat Doi Tung (twin pagodas)

Wat Phrathat Doi Tung on Doi Tung in Chiang Rai province, with its distinctive twin chedis, reportedly built in 911 AD by King Achutarat of Chiang Saen.

 

The pagodas are said to contain the relic collar-bones of the Buddha and are thought to be the first chedis ever constructed in the Lan Na Kingdom (fig.).
