Suan Hin Pha Ngam is a limestone garden in the amphur Nong Hin, in Loei province (fig.).

 

These hills and cliffs were formed by the erosion of sedimentary rock, and the movement and crumpling of the earth's crust as continental plates came together.

This natural attraction covers an area of about 3,600 acres and was once covered by sea.

 

It allegedly dates back to the time when the Himalayas (fig.) were formed, and is said to have the same age as the Stone Forest near Kunming, China (fig.).
