Thailand

The Rao Soo Monument in Buriram was erected in 1979, to commemorate the bravery of the civilians, soldiers and police officers, who lost their lives during battles with communist insurgents.

Rao Soo means ‘We Fight’ and the monument is located in the amphur Nohn Din Daeng, along the Lahaan Saai-Tah Phraya Road that connects Buriram with Sa Kaeo, and the very road these men and women defended, when communists obstructed its construction due to its strategic value.
