  World's Largest Book

The world's largest book consists of 729 separate marble tablets or steles, that are located in equally as many freestanding stupas at the Kuthodaw Pagoda (fig.) in Mandalay.

 

The tablets have the complete text of the Tripitaka inscribed on them in Burmese script, originally in gold, but now faded.
