  Khao Phra Wihaan

Thailand

A side view of the ‘Temple Mount’ in the Dangrek mountain range. At the horizon are the ruins of the ancient Khmer temple Khao Phra Wihaan, viewed from Pha Mo Ih-Daeng mountain cliff (fig.).

It straddles the border with Thailand, near the present day Thai province of Sri Saket, where the temple's two satellite stupas known as Prasat Santhop are located, and Cambodia, with its entrance clearly on Thai soil, while the main complex is on Cambodian territory, in the khaet Preah Vihear. Climbing up from right to left is a 400 meter long staircase leading to the sanctuary. In the front, the twin stupas Prasat Santhop can be seen.
