  Jade Emperor (Yu Huang)

Thailand

The Jade Emperor, called Yu Huang in Chinese, holding a chintamani (fig.) and a ceremonial jade tablet (fig.). He is the most important god of the Chinese Taoist pantheon, who rules over heaven and earth, just as the mortal emperors once ruled over China.

In front of his celestial throne (fig.) is a dragon staircase slab (fig.) and the flanks are lined with dragon pillars (fig.), both characteristic features in Chinese palace and temple architecture.
