  Amoghasiddhi

Nepal

A statue of Amoghasiddhi, the buddha of the North, who has a green complexion and is seated in a lotus position while performing an abhaya mudra with his right hand. On mandalas, he usually portrayed holding a Visvavajra, that is a double vajra (fig.), but here he is depicted with a small bowl and seated on a multi-headed serpent, reminiscent of the naagprok pose of the Sakyamuni Buddha (fig.). His mount is the Garuda, which is here represented in the bottom corners of the statue.
