Yellow banners with red script and trimming are a common sight during the nine-day Taoist celebration  of the Nine Emperor Gods Festival, locally also known as the Phuket Vegetarian Festival.

Devotees put up altars in front of their homes, such as this one with a cloth depicting the Chinese gods Hok, Lok and Siw.
