The sandon at the mouth of the Chao Phrya river in Samut Prakan is a good feeding ground for mudskippers (fig.), as well as for waterfowl that feed on crabs and tiny fish. Even so, to keep the estuary open for traffic dredgers continuously need to maintain the depth of the river (fig.).
