  mondop

Thailand

This mondop with its typical square shape and pyramidal roof is located within Wat Phra Kaew and was formerly used as a library to house religious manuscripts, including the Tripitaka which King Rama I had revised in 1788, after the previous edition had been lost in the sack of Ayutthaya.
