NATURE & GASTRONOMY

  maengmoom

Thailand

In Thai, spiders are called maengmoom, which could literally be translated as ‘eight-legged corner insects’.

Many species spin webs to capture insects as food, though some hunt for prey, yet all are able to produce silken threads from glands in their abdomen. This large wolf spider was spotted in Chiang Rai.
