  Phra Ram (khon mask)

Thailand

A khon mask of Rama (fig.) or Ramachandra, who in Thai is called Phra Ram, the hero of the Ramakien, has a green face and a golden chadah-style crown.

However, in khon Phra Ram may also not wear a mask, but just a chadah-style crown (fig.), while in puppetry, his complexion is white, and when he reverts to his divine form, referred to as Phra Narai, he is depicted with a purple complexion (fig.).

See POSTAGE STAMPS (1) and (2), and LIST OF RAMAKIEN CHARACTERS.
