  khao chae

Thailand

Khao chae is a dish from Central Thailand,  which consists of boiled jasmine rice served in iced water, which is scented with flower leaves, and eaten with assorted side dishes, typically including fried shrimp-paste balls. This postage stamp was issued in 2002 and is part of a set of four stamps on food, one for each of the main regions of the Kingdom (fig.).
