PREVIOUS LIZARD NEXT LIZARD Vietnam

Skinks, called jing lehn in Thai, are lizard-like reptiles, although usually without a pronounced neck and relatively small or reduced legs, or even with no legs at all, depending on the genus. This one is a Many-lined Sun Skink, also known as Common Sun Skink and Vietnam Forest Skink, and with the Latin scientific name Mabuya multifasciata, with normal olive-brown colouration. See also List of Thai Animal Names.

Though difficult to identify, the skink in the photo on the right is most likely an Olive Tree Skink (Dasia olivacea). See also List of Thai Animal Names.
