The Rosy Trumpet Tree, with the botanical name Tabebuia rosea which in Thai is known as chomphu phanthip, meaning pink celestial strain.

 

It blooms from January to April and produces light to dark pink trumpet flowers, usually with fading to dark yellow eyes which mostly grow in clusters.

The tree originates from South America and the name tabebuia is a contraction of tacyba and bebuya meaning ant wood in the Tupi Indian dialect.
