  Wiang Kum Kahm

Thailand

Wiang Kum Kahm is an ancient settlement in northern Thailand, that was founded by King Mengrai after his victory over Haripunchai, and predates Chiang Mai. The only edifice of that period still standing today is Wat Kuh Kham. Nowadays it is called Wat Chedi Liam, which means ‘Temple of the Square Chedi’.
