  Wat Traimit (post-2009 mondop)

Thailand

This high-rise mondop, constructed in white marble and located within the compound of Wat Traimit in Bangkok houses the Golden Buddha (fig.), which was moved here from its former location (fig.) at the end of 2009.

Golden letters display the words Phra Maha Mondop over the Golden Buddha's name, i.e. Phra Phutta Maha Suwan Patimakon.

  Wat Traimit (post-2009 mondop)

A bronze plaques above the text shows the temple's logo, i.e. three thevada assembled on a cloud, perhaps a pun that refers to the three friends (trai mit), who donated the temple's land, but also reminiscent of the Trimurti or the Hindu divine triad Vishnu, Brahma and Shiva above this temple's old gate (fig.).
