  Tree Jasmine

Tree Jasmine, an evergreen or semi-deciduous tree, known in Thai as kasalong kham and pihb thong, and with the botanical name Radermachera ignea.

 

It grows to a height of between 6 to 20 meters and blooms from January to May, displaying clusters of tubular, bright orange flowers with a sweet jasmine-like fragrance, that grow on old branches.

It is the provincial tree of Chiang Rai province and is said to symbolize simplicity, endurance, advancement and peacefulness. See also List of Thai Botanical Names.
