Sri Saket (ศรีสะเกษ)

Thai. Name of a province (map) and its capital city in Isaan, 571 kms northeast of Bangkok and with a population of around 35,000. The province borders Cambodia and its local places of interest include several ancient Khmer temples with the famous remains of Khao Phra Wihaan situated on Cambodian territory but accessible only through Thailand. Its places of interest also include Wat Pah Lahn Kuat, a forest temple decorated with countless glass bottles. The province has twenty amphur and two king amphur. See also Sri Saket data file.
