A Tawny Coster's antennae are black, its head and thorax black with pale brownish-yellow and white spots, and its abdomen black near the front and orangey at the back, with narrow transverse black lines.

 

The upperside is tawny, with transverse black spot on the forewings and a black apex and termen. The hindwings also have some black spots and black border, with pale, almost white spots.

The underside is similar to the upperside, but paler. On the head there is also has an orangey epistome. This individual was spotted near Phimai. See also List of Thai Insect Names.
