  Shwezigon Phaya, Bagan

Myanmar

In the course of 2016-2017 AD, the main stupa of the Shwezigon Phaya in Bagan (fig.) has been renovated. During this time, goldbeaters (fig.) produced fresh, hand-beaten gold plates (fig.) that were applied onto the stupa.

To provide a work space away from onlookers, as well as some shadow, a bamboo scaffolding closed off with a screen of plaited bamboo mats, was erected.
