Sa Kaeo

The escutcheon of S(r)a Kaeo (crystal pond) shows a standing Buddha image in the position of ‘bathing in the rain’ (paang song nahm) on a lotus flower in a pond (sa). In the background are an ancient site and morning rays of the sun are visible. It refers to the flourishing of Buddhism and the prosperity it brought to this region, whilst the rays of the sun refer to its location in the East. The ancient site is Prasat Khao Noi Sih Chomphu.
