  Red-headed Blister Beetle

Vietnam

A Red-headed Blister Beetle, which is also known as Red-headed Slender Oil Beetle, spotted in Central Vietnam. It is overall black in colour, with whitish rings towards the lower abdomen and an orangey-red head.

It also has an off-white to pale yellowish-orangey horizontal line across the sides of the upper abdomen, which is only fully visible in flight. Whereas the black body and wings are shiny, its black elytra are matt and seemingly lined with a fine white border. See List of Thai Insect Names.
