  Puning Temple Complex

China

The Puning Temple Complex in Chengde (fig.), is built on a hill and in the Chinese-Tibetan style.

Its main building is the Hall of the Bodhisattva (fig.), which houses the world's largest wooden statue of Kuan Yin (fig.). Being a Tibetan Buddhist monastery, it even has a large gilded bronze statue of the Four Harmonious Friends (fig.), known in Chinese as Si He Xiang (四合象).
