A male Plain Earl basking on a palm leaf in Chiang Rai province. Above, it is dark brown to blackish, with a slightly purplish shine and a small, off-white edge on the forewings, and a similar, yet much broader off-white band, on the lower part of the hindwings. See also List of Thai Insect Names.
