  Nepalese-style Garuda Garuda

Nepal

A Nepalese-style statue of Garuda, mount of the Hindu god Vishnu (fig.), placed behind the Trailokya (Trelokya) Mohan Narayan (Narayana) Temple on Durbar Square in Kathmandu (fig.), Nepal. Though described as a savage mythological bird, and usually portrayed with the features of a bird and the body of a human, he is here −apart from the wings− portrayed with a more human-like appearance.
