  Lohaprasat roofop

The top floor of the Lohaprasat (fig.) at Wat Ratchanaddah, here seen in 2017 after its peaks had just been gilded sometime in 2016 (fig.). It offers a bird's-eye view of Rattanakosin as well as of the temple's adjacent wihaan, whereas on the inside the pinnacle houses a relic of the Buddha (fig.).

 

Prior to this, between 2004 and 2016, the chedi-like spikes were painted black (fig.), and before that they were white  and the walls pink (fig.).
