Phra Nang Phaya (พระนางพญา)

Thai. Name of a popular and well-known Buddhist amulet from Wat Nang Phaya (วัดนางพญา) in Phitsanulok (fig.), and fully known as Phra Nang Phaya Pim Khao Kohng (พระนางพญาพิมพ์เข่าโค้ง). It represents the temple's Phra Nang Phaya Buddha image, which is seated in the maravichaya pose, also known as bhumisparsa. It is believed to offer protection against curses, escape from dangers, good luck and wealth. It is part of a set of five amulets, that are collectively known as Phra Khreuang Benjaphahkhih (fig.), which are associated with the five elements, and of which Phra Nang Phaya represents the element of fire.
