A Hua Ha painting of either an effeminate boy or a girl, depicted holding a lotus leaf and flower, and a girl holding a Chinese wedding box (fig.), which is decorated with a stylized Chinese bat-symbol known as fu (fig.), and from which five bats emerge, a symbol for fortune, longevity, good health, love and death of natural causes (fig.).
