  Great White Pelican

A female and male Great White Pelican in breading plumage, at Jurong Bird Park in Singapore (fig.). In the breeding season, their plumage has a distinctive pinkish tinge to it.

 

In this period, the facial patch is pinkish in males and yellowish-orange in females, and it has a tufted crest at the back of the nape. See also List of Thai Animal Names.
