A Chocolate Soldier perching on the thorny stalk of mimosa (fig.). This one was spotted in Mae Hong Son province.

 

Above, this species is brown of varying depths of colour, with brown lines and a tiny white spot near the front edge of each forewing. At first sight it may be confused with the Common Castor (fig.). See also List of Thai Insect Names.
