  Chinese Imperial roof decoration (Thailand)

Thailand

Chinese Imperial roof decorations at Wat Boromaracha Kancha-na Phisek Anuson in Nonthaburi. At the head of the row is a man riding a feng-huang, a mythical bird similar to a phoenix, and at the tail of the procession is usually a dragon.

In between the two are a number of other mythical animals, their number varying according to the significance of the building, thus in-dicating the impor-tance of duties per-formed within it.
