  Chiasmia Moth

PREVIOUS MOTH NEXT MOTH Thailand

A Chiasmia Moth has mostly greyish upper-wings, with some dark and orange markings, and a distinctive whitish bar near the center of the hind- and forewings, which both also have an outer whitish fringe. It has rather large eyes and its body is grey with some orange, especially on the underside.

In addition, it has brownish-orange legs and antennae. These photos are of two different individuals, both spotted in Bangkok. The one in the photo above has a more clear white outer edge, especially on the forewings. See also List of Thai Insect Names.
