Barn Swallows of the subspecies Hirundo rustica gutturalis, spotted in Kanchanaburi province. Whereas adults of the nominate race have a broad dark bluish-black breast band, this subspecies has an incomplete breast band, in which the rufous colour of the forehead, chin and throat is partly extended.

 

In addition to the bluish-black upperparts, the rufous colour of the forehead, chin and throat, and the off-white underparts of the nominate race, Hirundo rustica gutturalis also have pinkish-buff lower underparts. See also List of Thai Animal Names.
