  Banded Krait

 

Strong neurotoxic venom, deadly! Bite is often painless, though without administration of serum death can occur after just 30 minutes.

A venomous and potentially deadly Yellow-banded Krait (fig.) or simply Banded Krait. It has alternate black and pale yellow bands of almost equal width, that encircle its body and tail.

 

In Thai, it is known as ngu saam liam, which literally means ‘triangular snake’ and refers to the elevated vertebral ridge. See also List of Thai Animal Names.
