Graphic designs with silhouettes of disciplines (designs 1-2) and icons of objects used in sports (design 3-4) that featured at the 8th Asian Games, as well as its logo, which consists of a red sun with bursting flames, two golden Thai-style rooftop spires called chofa (fig.), and in light blue the text 8th Asian Games, Bangkok 1978. The various sports and disciplines depicted are: 1. bowling, kickboxing, and pole vault; 2. weightlifting, javelin throw, and athletics; 3. volleyball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, and sailing; 4. basketball, football, boxing, and hockey.
